Great info, Ross. Thanks so much for writing!
I bought the "I Come In Peace" CD a few weeks ago. It's awesome! Everysingle tune. Like all fine musical works, it grows with each listeningsession. At first, I just kept repeating the opening tract because it's such a fabulous song. But now, I can see (hear) how all the songs are true gems. And there seems to be a recurring, optimistic, enjoy-this-life-because-it's-a-gift theme to the entire album. [At least that's a message that I draw from the the entire work.] Well done, Ross!
I've already seen two of the videos you mentioned (yourhome page, and "Hey, Hey, It's Saturday"-- the Peaceniks are excellent support for you!), and I'll be sure to view the other two.
Keep up the GREAT work, Ross. I was first introduced to your music when enjoying you and DC opening for Linda Ronstadt at my small college back in Virginia (fall of 1971?). What a career you've had and are still having.
Long may you run! [As Neil Young might say.] Congratulations and very best wishes!
Aloha,

Ross:
Love the "I Come in Peace" video. Love the song, love the message.
Any US of A tour dates? Would love to see you live. I have a picture of the marquee for the Captain Beefheart/Daddy Cool bill I saw at the Santa Monica Civic in 1972 hanging in my office. We need some Aussie rock and attitude in the US.
Peace... Now

I grew with your music as I am fifty-six years old. I remember driving to Goulbourn NSW one night listening to Come Back Again on the radio as it was just released on the album and the DJ was reviewing it, we were on a hunting trip - what a great song , stayed in my mind forever, hear the song remember that trip.

Hi Ross, I've been studying singing for a year now and yesterday at the studio's annual gig I did an interpretation of YOUR fantastic version of Heartbreak Hotel from Tributary - pleased to say it was a big success. What a top version! I'm submitting a band to Bob Spencer's Weekend Warriors program and we'd love to cover Aliens and Zoop Bop Gold Cadillac (as on Tributary) - can you tell me where we might get hold of the guitar chords for these two tracks? I came to the launch of the new CD at the Toff recently - fantastic stuff! Don't stop doing what you're doing it's as brilliant as ever. Tracie Laws (buddy of John Higgins).

Had a sensational time at The Basement on Saturday. Of course we went for the classics, but we were greatly impressed by the songs from the new album, which we bought and had the taxi driver play for us on the way home. Thanks for signing the CD. We had been to the Races earlier, so I had consumed a few when I put my big claw around your shoulder and asked for a photo. You were very gracious and tolerant! A great night and can't wait to come to another performance when you're back in town.

Hi Ross!
Just noticed the Urban Legends have since become The Peaceniks. Hope it's due to your new album and not the powers that be in Hollywood forcing you to change the band name because of the Urban Legend movies.
Also, great news about Mondo Rock touring with Roxy Music next year. That'd be a killer show.
Interesting how both MR and RM have a song called Trash-was that how MR got the gig?
All the best for the future

Hi Ross,
Will you be doing more new music videos of the other songs on the new album "I Come In Peace"?
My favorite song on the album is "The Same Moon" co-written by you and Eric McCusker. Which of you wrote the lyrics?
I also like "Fishin' On A Rainy Day", Old Country Road", "I Got You", Strange As It May Seem", "Hell Of A Time". "Love's Journey", "Rose Marie", "I Come In Peace", Here On God's Island", and "Land Of Contentment", but I think the last song should have been called "Land Of Contempt" after what they did to a democratically elected Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd.

Ross,
I bought my first Daddy Cool album way back in '72 in New Orleans where I grew up! My best friend was the drummer in T.Q. and the Topcats which was a local 50s band. Of course I was digging the music so when I was at the record store I asked the folks to suggest an album. I was handed Daddy Who? and have been a big fan since! I live in Tennessee now and Nashville is just an hour away! Do you ever make it over to these parts?

Hi Ross, I just saw the 5 Decades of Cool Highlights Album on iTunes. Is this a digital only release or will we see it on CD sometime soon? I still like to buy CDs - but will purchase the iTunes if it is all that will be available. Love the new album - high rotation in our house. Thanks Matt

Congratulations - great album! One of those records that gets better the more it's played. Musicianship, songs and overall sound are excellent. Best RW album in many a moon. Hi Ross - great baby boomer fan- you are the man! Hey I am trying to find the chords to 'Chemistry' - Mondo Rock but not anywhere on the web (911 doesn't have it) Can you point me to a place or post them - don't need a tab just the chord pattern. I am in a cover band called Chemistry and we like to use the chorus as a bracket breaker.

Yee hah ! I've got my copy of "I come in peace" and absolutely love it !
Initial impressions are that "I got you", "The same moon", "I come in Peace" and my ol' favorite "Hell of a time" are stand outs. However I will give a proper "review" when I've heard them a few more times. It was also great to see you on Hey, Hey its Saturday recently. Look forward to seeing you when you are in Sydney.

Just watched your performance with the Peaceniks on Hey Hey. Brillant as usual. I look forward to hearing the new album next week. I have been on Christmas Island for the past twelve months. Had a great time with Ross Hanaford and they boys when they performed here late last year. The island communities of Christmas & Cocos don't get too many opportunities to see live performances of the calibre of RH & band. So it was very special for the community. I have been doing a weekly 3 hour music program on Community Radio station 6RCI 102.1FM Christmas Island. I will give 'I come in Peace' some airtime for you next week.
Hope you and your family are all keeping well and I look forward to catching up with you at an RW concert in the not too distant future. Have a great tour and great success with the new album.
Best regards

Great music as always Ross. I love it ! I will make sure Bay & Basin FM play it. I missed your show the last time you were in the Shoalhaven due to illness, but I got a full report from John Manners (The Whispers & Bay & Basin Radio jock) You won't remember me, but I e-mailed you after I bought the Daddy Cool DVD collection & told you that I started work at Dept. of Supply just after you left. My crazy wife told me later that she e-mailed you & invited you for dinner !! Not that you wouldn't have been welcome, but I was terribly embarrassed when she told me.
Due to failing health, I moved to the Shoalhaven & have been involved with Bay & Basin FM for the last year. I will continue to promote great Aussie music such as yours.
Thanks for keeping it real.

Hi Ross. I just want to say that I think your song "Dark Side of the Man" from 1989 is very underrated. At the time, I was only 8 years old, but I loved this song to death. It didn't get much radio play back then (but radio was very different - songs weren't played to death like they are now), but whenever it came on, I was practically jumping for joy. I think it's sad that most stations today seem to have eliminated this song from their library. I have not heard it played ONCE since 1989. Anyway, take care. :)
