Eagle Rock 1908

Ross Wilson (Mushroom Music)
The original 1971 version of Eagle Rock by my group Daddy Cool is impossible to top so for 'Tributary' I took the sound to pre-electric times imagining what it would sound like 100 years ago if you wandered into a bar or dancehall & chanced upon a performance of that timeless ragtime classic Eagle Rock (1908). Big thanks to John McAll for the arrangement & wicked bordello piano & the dancing girl chorus from The Wolfgramm Sisters.
Eagle Rock

Now listen,
Oh we're steppin' out
Gonna you turn around,
Turn you 'round once
We'll do the Eagle Rock.

Hey momma,
Your rock is fine
Why don't you give me a sign?
Just gimme that sign and we'll do the Eagle Rock.

Chorus:
Hey Hey Hey
Good old Eagle Rock is here to stay,
I'm just crazy 'bout the way we move,
Doin' the Eagle Rock.
Woh-hoh-oh come on fast, you can come on slow
I'm just crazy 'bout the way we move,
Doin' the Eagle Rock.

Hey baby!
Your rock is swell
Ah you do it so well
Do it so well when we do the Eagle Rock.

Hey mama!
Well I feel so free!
What you do to me!
What you do to me when we do the Eagle Rock.

Repeat Chorus

Let's Rock!
(Piano Solo)

Now listen,
Oh we're steppin' out
I'm gonna turn you 'round,
Turn 'round once
Do the Eagle Rock.

Hey Hey Hey
Good old Eagle Rock is here to stay,
I'm just crazy 'bout the way we move,
Doin' doin' the Eagle Rock.
Woh-hoh-oh come on fast, You can come on slow
I'm just crazy 'bout the way we move,
Doin' the Eagle Rock
I say we're
Doin the Eagle Rock
Come on
Doin the Eagle Rock
(piano riff)
Eagle Rock!
