Ross Wilson: News

Out And About - February 1, 2012

You may have noticed that, as usual, I took a break over Christmas & New Year. As well as all the family stuff I determined that I should get out & see more live music. You might I'd do that a lot but when my own gig calendar is full I'm not too interested in using off nights to go out anywhere.

Was part of the RocKwiz crew at Pyramid Rock Festival, Phillip Island, 29 Dec so stayed o/nite with my teen daughter to catch some fresh acts 30 Dec.  Best of the bunch that morning was Ball Park Music from Brisbane.

New Year's Day 2012 found us comped for tix to Summadayze at the Myer Music Bowl - huge crowd - managed to catch Scissor Sisters & Snoop Dogg (everybody loves Snoop) before the heat sent us underground backstage to drink the promoters' champagne (thanks Future Music) then head out again to scope the DJ stages scattered around the site & catch up on what the dance crowd is into right now. My verdict? Too much doof & not enough funk.

Which brings me to last night (1 Feb).  I don't own any albums by Feist but had heard enough to intuit that booking tix for her Palais show might lead to a good night out. Feist is from Canada & has that upper Nth American sound I hear as a mixture of Arcadian & Canadian - so let's called it Canadia.  Early practitioners include Neil Young & Joni Mitchell & in some ways Feist is a mash up of those two; she's got a powerful, accurate voice & some kinda baditude. Her music is melodic & primal & dynamic; like Esther Phillips said  'from a whisper to a scream'. Feist, first name Leslie, fronts an excellent 3 piece male band (drums, keys, & gtr/bass/trumpet/percussion/weird noises dude) augmented by a young female trio of backup singers (Mountain Man). The oddly named Mountain Man opened the night with a set of their own, mainly accapella, songs using tightly grouped harmonies & made beautiful music which often incorporated strange angles & deliberate use of dischord. Excellent. Feist opened her set with a couple of attention grabbing highly dramatic pieces that for a lesser act would have been saved for the finale. Over the nearly 2 hours they were on stage the level of performance & musical arrangement was startlingly good. Feist lives up to her name - she has attitude, great songs with melodies, can blast it out, knows her way around the guitar & ain't afraid to hit it hard & grunge up. She has been nominated for a Grammy 4 times & has scored well in the Canadian equivalents the Junos. Her most recent album is 'Metals'. Her next appearance is this week in Footscray (Arts Precinct) as part of the multi-state Laneway Festival. Love that Canadia Music.

Happy New Year - December 30, 2011

Happy New Year to everyone but especially those of you who visit my site, come to gigs, & generally contribute to what I love to do, which is to continue to make & perform music.  There is no such thing as a boring year & I think 2012 will be an exceptional one with the promise of mucho change in the air. Personally I'm getting a bit restless which means that its time I wrote some songs & go to work on another album. Starting Monday. In the run-up heard some new sounds at The Pyramid Rock Festival yesterday, signing off with a short guest spot NYE @ Ormond Hall (joining some Peaceniks moonlighting with Eugene Hamilton), & Day 1, 2012, we'll be funning in the VIP section of Summadayze at the Myer Music Bowl clearing our brains & ears for a fresh POV.

Back on the gig trail mid-January with a bunch of shows in NSW (see 'Dates' page)

This Christmas Eve - December 19, 2011

Take your pick or do em both.  This Christmas Eve I'm guesting on both The RocKwiz Christmas Special (SBS-TV) and Carols By Candlelight (Nine Network).  The RocKwiz special was shot Dec 9 in front of a full house at The Palais Theatre, St Kilda, & Carols goes live to air Dec 24.  In this pic I'm singing Soul Christmas with Shellie Morris & The Christmas Belles (aka The Nymphs) as the opening number on the RocKwiz special.405596_10150467400034235_96329489234_8150939_2087213121_n_resized.jpg

The Great Australian Songbook - December 11, 2011

Released just last month the double CD The Great Australian Songbook has gone platinum (70K), in fact it has hit the 100,000 mark. This is good news as I am associated with 3 of the 40 tracks: Eagle Rock - Daddy Cool (writer, lead vocal, gtr riff), Come Said The Boy - Mondo Rock (lead vocal), and Living In The 70s - Skyhooks (producer).  There's a standard 2CD edition plus a Deluxe edition that comes boxed with an impressively designed hard cover book full of songwriters' notes & art & pics for each song.  Here are a couple of links to help you check it out:

RIP Ross Waddington - October 20, 2011

Sad to announce the passing last Monday of my friend Ross Waddington known by most for his huge & good natured contribution to local music & what is referred to as Kar Kulture, the heady mix of clothing, cars, blues, rockabilly, tatts, burlesque & more that is personified by his Route 66 retail stores & clothing line . He was a leading creator of retro fashion with an unerring eye for quality in design & materials & was personally very helpful to me whenever I saught his opinion or assistance or just yak about the music he loved.  An avid collector of vinyl & shellac Ross shared his collection with the public as DJ Mudcat at clubs & events. Yesterday, following a private family service, his many friends gave him a big send off at the St Kilda Bowling Club.

Been A While... - August 8, 2011

Been a while since I blogged & I haven't commenced updating the site yet either because we've been so immersed in touring.  But things have been happening; for instance the 40th Anniversary Edition of Daddy Who? Daddy Cool! (Sony) came out last week & is notable for the fact that this is the 1st time that particular album has been available in its entirety uncut & remastered in the CD era, which is kinda funny cos the CD era is almost over! You can get it as a download too & if you'd like a copy signed by all 4 original members of Daddy Cool log on to www.daddycool.com.au and order one from The Daddy Cool Store.

The album contains Eagle Rock which has been going great guns lately.  Eagle Rock and Bom Bom are both featured in the new movie Red Dog which has been getting excellent reviews and opened this weekend with the biggest gross for an Australian movie so far this year ($1.78mill).  And we just returned from Perth playing at the West Coast Eagles 25th Anniversary Ball.  The WCE love Eagle Rock & had us play it twice at their ball - we opened & closed our set with it.  Couple of days later we partied with the WCE supporters at Subiaco Oval where they defeated Richmond & we had em singing along to Eagle Rock again (twice) - yep, "good old Eagle Rock is here to stay". Glad I penned that line, it has turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If my memory serves me correctly August 8th 1971 was the day Daddy Cool played at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood & landed ourselves a deal with Reprise Records. I wrote a song about that for our 2nd album.

"We flew across to the USA / And played for the kids down in LA / Please please America hear my plea / A million bucks that'll do for me / That'll do for me"

(Please Please America written by R.Wilson c.1972 Mushroom Music) We didn't make a million but we sure had a good time.

On Tour | Website Upgrade - May 15, 2011

The regional tour is going well - check out the guestbook entries re last week's Sth Australian shows.  Sth Aussie is a beautiful state. We cruised through some of the best wine producing areas in the world - Clare Valley, Eden Valley & The Barossa - & met a whole bunch of nice people after each show.  The general consensus in each town seemed to be  that they are very grateful we've taken the time to go bush & bring them some rockin' entertainment. Last night we finished the SA run in Hahndorf.  Hahndorf's welcome sign says its "Australia's oldest German town" (?) and the strip was buzzing on Sunday arvo. Nightfall we played to a full house at the Old Mill.  Like Arnie says "I'll be bach".

I've got plans to update this website with a new look & more pages & features.  This might take a while so don't be alarmed if, once the reno is started, it takes more than a day or so to complete and adjust the new look site.

The Same Moon - April 5, 2011

Airplay & Tour News

The Same Moon is the 3rd track from my I Come In Peace album to go to radio and, building on the good airplay given to the previous two (I Come In Peace, I Got You), is off to a good start. It was picked up immediately by the Hot Country Network in Queensland and is on High Rotation.  Hot Country broadcasts over a large area that takes in Goondiwindi & St George in the south then north to Roma, Dalby & Emerald.  The National Indigenous Radio Service (NIRS) has come on board again too. Servicing 120 community stations around Australia from their flagship 989fm they are programming The Same Moon & have given the album a lot of support since its release last year. (I'll continue to update the Airplay List on the Homepage)

If you check out my Tour Dates page you'll see a whole lot of new gigs.  We off to the areas where I've had airplay & making appearances in most states plus the Northern Territory.  Along the way we'll be participating in a couple of flood relief related shows and the lyric of The Same Moon really strikes an extra heartstring now; when I sing Swallowed up by the earth / Drowned by a tidal wave I can't help thinking about recent natural catastrophes, particularly those in our own backyard. More dates will be added but already there's not much breathing space between now & the end of July. See you soon!

Sony:  'The Essential Daddy Cool' update

I'm happy to report that a problem that was bugging me (see 22 Jan 2011 news item below) has been fixed.  An intra record company licencing glitch had meant that you couldn't download the entire 36 track The Essential Daddy Cool album from iTunes as an 'album', only one track at a time.  After pointing this out to Sony they got cracking & the entire double album is now available to be downloaded in one hit & at a sensible price. Bewdy...

Megan Washington's Bed Of Nails - March 20, 2011

Megan Washington's reggae flavoured version of our song Bed Of Nails (Wilson/O'Brien/Pullicino) is now available worldwide on iTunes. Way before Washington became a hitmaker she cut this track as the theme for ABC-TV's series Bed Of Roses.  The show has just completed screening its 3rd series & there has been a steady build up of demand for Washington's version - I know because fans come to this site looking for it!  The show's producers' area of expertise is not in music so they were very grateful for the info I provided them to help get it up and running as a download.  Yep its been on iTunes for a couple of days now & seems to be doing well already. Oh & if you want the whole set you can also get the original 1989 version (from Mr Eagle Rock-The Best Of Ross Wilson) as well as a bluegrass one from my acoustic album Tributary. You want lyrics with that? Available right here on this site's Lyrics page.

MONDO ROCK OFF ROXY MUSIC TOUR - February 2, 2011

Today's press release:

"Mondo Rock off Roxy Music Tour

It is with great regret that Mondo Rock today announces that it is no longer part of the Roxy Music tour of Australia due to circumstances beyond its control.

The band apologises to its fans for any inconvenience.

Mark Sydow

Manager "

However the band is still performing in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar event on 19th March and will soon be announcing touring plans re the 2nd half of 2011 for the 30th anniversary of the Chemistry album

Bed Of Nails on iTunes & CD Baby + cynical Sony DC rip-off - January 22, 2011

Due to popular demand, as evidenced by the amount of search threads leading to this URL, I have released the original RW version of 'Bed Of Nails' worldwide as a digital download single on CD Baby & iTunes.   My version has been on the radio since it came out in 19frickin89 but since the song has been reincarnated as the theme for Australian ABC-TV's hit series 'Bed Of Roses' (now in its 3rd season) there has been a strong demand for B of N in any form. The TV theme as sung by the professionally & personally very hot Megan Washington is not available anywhere despite pleading to the show's producers on my part.  So you'll just have to settle for the original & the best by ME! You can get the lyrics too if you browse this site.

'Bed Of Nails' is taken from my current 'best of' compilation "Mr Eagle Rock" (on Shock) but that album is NOT available for download due to copyright problems involving the Daddy Cool tracks included on the album. Sony own those original DC tracks & won't sub-licence them to my 'best of' distributors Shock for downloads. They also have a bad attitude when it comes to Daddy Cool's compilation "The Essential Daddy Cool" - you can't download the entire collection as an album, only track by track, & the biggest DC hits cost $2.19 instead of $1.69! I swear its pissing off fans & its pissing off moi. This is exploitation at its worst.  Hello Sony, hello iTunes-Australia, our dollar is now worth $US1.00 so shouldn't our iTunes tracks now cost $0.99 like they do in the US? And they wonder why we shop online offshore. These guys are supposed to be selling my music - reasonable prices would lead to more sales & happier customers IMHO (go to iTunes-Australia & read disgrunted fans' comments). Thankfully I own & control the original recording of 'Bed Of Nails' & have had it released worldwide via US indie music distributors CD Baby who have really got their act together - it took just 2 days to get up on iTunes & I did it online from home - in Oz it would still be in the queue waiting for the so called 'industry' to get back from yet another meeting about why their companies' sales are drying up.

Oprah's Fans Do The Eagle Rock - December 14, 2010

Remember the Melbourne party people had all been invited to the Oprah Sydney Opera House experience?  Well I couldn't go as I had a gig on Monday night & it would have been too hard to get to the 9am shoot on Tues, so Tania went up without me.  6:30am Tues the phone rouses me from my reverie "Oprah really really wants you to be part of the 2nd show at 5pm" her executive producer Sarah tells me.  Oh OK get the kids to school, hop in the limo they send around & its off to Sydney to sing Eagle Rock for the 6000 assembled on the O House steps...and yeah they all stood up, clapped & sang along & got the vibe before the show started. I am one proud Oz Rocker.  Rubbed shoulders with Bono backstage, a peck on the cheek from my Melbourne contemporary Olivia NJ, and a big apres show thank you from Oprah herself, yep, felt like a gig, a big one, a very positive & satisfying one; but you know they mostly are like that. I love my work & all of you who make it possible to do the thing I love; sing, rock, & write songs.  See the Oprah affirmation dust has rubbed off on me!  Catching the last flight home & in the Qantas Lounge dudes who were there this arvo are telling me how much they dug it - mmm a good day.

On the way up the CH9 inflight Morning News had a story about Oprah's activities on Monday sailing on Sydney Harbour with Russell Crowe "at the helm of rock star Ross Wilson's yacht Eagle Rock" RED ALERT MEDIA WATCH! MEDIA WATCH! 1. Yes it was a yacht called 'Eagle Rock' 2. Yes it is part owned by a guy called Ross Wilson BUT that's another RW, the former CEO of Tabcorp who (weird) I went to school with.  When I touched down I gave him a call & we both had a laugh.  Folks, about the only boat I could ever afford would be a tinnie with a 2-stroke.

Oprah Does The Eagle Rock - December 10, 2010

We were sworn to secrecy & Tania & I weren't even sure the Big O would show but when we saw the helicopter hovering over our friend Megan's house in Toorak we knew that the person that had the whole of Australia in her media grip was definitely in the house. Megan & Paul were hosting their trad Monday taco nite on a Friday & Oprah & crew were there to relax & enjoy & record some Aussie home hospitality on the pool patio complete with entertainment from a very nice bloke, Paris, who serenaded Oprah with 'Billionaire' & Oprah centric raps, followed a little later by yours truly when I pulled out my Gibson acoustic for a short rendition of 'Come Back Again' followed by 'Eagle Rock' utilising a backing track played by the original members of Daddy Cool. Naturally the whole party of 15-20 got up and danced, including Oprah. Mission accomplished.  What more can I say it was a fun night.

After a couple of hours they packed up & left but not before Oprah graciously had snaps taken with all her new friends & invited us all to go to Sydney (at her expense) to participate in her 1st Opera House show (9am Tuesday 14 Dec).  I can't go cos I've got a gig on Monday nite which is when they all fly up. But, hey, that's the thing with gigs the show MUST go on whether its mine or Oprah's and so it was that I continued on into the nite and over to Bendigo St, Richmond, to knock out a rocking set with Tony Kopa's Headspace as the 9 Network said farewell to the studio that has been its home for over 50 years.  IMT, Hey Hey, you name it, all came out of this studio right next door to Television City Sound, the place where I produced the first Skyhooks & Jo Jo Zep albums.

More Radio - November 30, 2010

You may have noticed I have put 'I Got You' on this site's Flash player so that its the first thing you hear when you log on.  'I Got You' picked up some more radio station adds this week including some pop stations & the National Indigenous Radio network- our plan is working!  Thanks PowerFM SA & NSW and NIRS. Cheers in particular to PowerFM 5MU Murray Bridge, 2NM (New Music) Muswellbrook, Hot Country Radio Qld and 989fm Qld 'For The Best Country'.  I'm on some playlists alongside Taylor Swift so 'I Got You' is looking like a country-pop crossover.  Don't forget to hit the eudie cologne & request 'I Got You' on your favourite station.

'I Got You' Goes To Radio - November 22, 2010

'I Got You', the 2nd single from my 'I Come In Peace' album, has been added to the playlists of the 2SM Network which covers Sydney & regional NSW, & The FlowFM Network in regional SA, parts of Vic & NT, and EasyMix Bendigo/Mildura, Vic.   I co-wrote 'I Got You' with beautiful young country singer Dianna Corcoran who has had lots of airplay of her own all over Australia. If her fans & DJs combine with mine I'm hoping we'll get a heap more radio adds. Right now we're off to a good start.

Random Good Stuff - November 8, 2010

1 The Eagle Drop is such a phenomena that was about time we got on board. At the University of Queensland they claim they originated the Eagle Drop back in the 70s. Who knows if this is true or not but they are definitely leading exponents of the dance movement that involves dropping your strides whenever Eagle Rock is played. On 29 Oct we witnessed it first hand at UQ & it was wonderful. Being Octoberfest beer was involved & DJs too and barmaids dressed as frauliens.  Me & The Peaceniks played a short warm up set before the main event - Eagle Rock.  At the opening riff the student body became a maelstrom of flying pants & shirts, crowd surfing in underwear, mass sing-a-long, babes jumping me on stage, a dude in a giant eagle suit leaping about - it was great! So we had to play it again, resulting in more of the same.  Youth energy is a wonderful thing. For a small inkling of what it was like there are pics on their Facebook & one of me with the giant Eagle on my 'Photos' page.

2 The Melbourne Cup.  I picked the winner Americain but spread my bets too wide & so only broke even.  I've picked the winner 4 years out of 5, not bad for a mug punter. We  had a few friends around in the backyard for the big day including my old mate Billy Pommer Jnr, drummer for The Johnnys. He & Liz & their kids have moved down to Melbourne. The Pommer youngsters have a hot band going, Vice Grip Pussies, & The Johnnys are gonna kick up some dust again at the St Kilda Bowling Club 20 Nov (I can't go, got a gig in Barooga). Actually got to the Flemington track on Oaks Day where we took full advantage of the impeccable hospitality at the Emirates Marquee & blathered on to whomever was closest e.g. Buddy Franklin, Russell Gilbert, Samantha & Aki, Mark Thompson (Geelong/Essendon coach) and paid for the outing with Tania's trifecta scoop on the last race. A big thank you to our driver who lent me his tie (apparently ya can't get into the Birdcage w/o one).

3  Technology & Music. As far as I'm concerned we're living in time when magic has become everyday reality with powerful phones, computers, 3D TV, wireless everything, and science that hurts my brain like dark matter, nano stuff, drone warfare...do you hear me?  At least a lot of it is useful and cheap.  Got a new app for $2.49, TuneIn Radio, that let's you tune in to radio stations of all kinds on every continent & most countries. So I plug my phone into the car's auxilary line & am currently digging stations in Burkino Faso (google it).  African music sung in French streaming from the wonderfully named capital city of Ouagadougou.  If you like what you're hearing you can rewind & hit record. From Azerbaijan to Zambia, the world's grooves are available, no worries.

My Life As A Gig Punter - October 7, 2010

Because I tour so much its not often I get the time or the inclination to go see other acts perform unless they are on the same bill as me - e.g. Bluesfest's great 2010 lineup. But there are a couple of artists on my radar that I'm going to make sure I catch when they come to town. Just announced is Pieta Brown w/Bo Ramsay.  Bo caught my attention in the early 90s when I chanced upon his album 'Down To Bastrop' (now considered a masterwork). I was in Nashville at the time & it amazed me that, when I mentioned him in that town, no-one had heard of him. However Lucinda Williams also heard that album & called him up to play guitar on some of her tracks.  Since then this man from Iowa has had a slow build gaining recognition as a producer and artist in his own right. His albums are a wonderful mix of blues, country & Iowan folk performed in a lowdown, laconic, stripped bare, American Gothic no showing-off-allowed, lyrically impressionistic style. I really dig him.  He gained some kudos as producer of Greg Brown & Greg's daughter Pieta Brown, and recently wed Pieta who is becoming quite well know in her own right helped by the fact that she is an Angelique Jolie look alike.  This is Pieta & Bo's first Aussie tour. I was hoping that Bo might do some solo shows of his own but that ain't gonna happen.  I've got a week off in November & will definitely be there at the Northcote Social Club on Nov 23 - gotta check out how he makes the geetar sound like that.

See Pieta Brown& Bo Ramsay Australian Tour dates at http://www.vitamin.net.au/pages/gigs.asp?i=5241&artist=Pieta_Brown

Way back in 1968 (before DC) I bought Randy Newman's debut album. Randy's singing style was unrefined but his songs, arrangements & piano style were a step up from what I was used to. His next release '12 Songs' put him on the critics' map & after 1972's 'Sail Away' he could have retired being satisfied that he had created a masterpiece.  Fortunately creative people rarely retire - they keep forging ahead. Misunderstood, due to being one of the few Americans I know of blessed with a finely honed sense of irony, he never sold enough solo albums to survive & so moved sideways into the world his uncles Alfred & Lionel Newman had inhabited as writers of Hollywood movie soundtrack music (along with their sons/his cousins David & Thomas Newman).  Man has he made a bundle there particularly with kids /family movies, the 'Toy Story' series being the biggest.  He has toured Australia several times but on his 2011 July tour will be backed by the MSO.  I should not miss this...but dunno yet what I'll be doing in July next year. Should I commit $175 per A-grade ticket now or wait til I pin down my schedule? Probably be all sold out by then so I might have to buy them tix & hope for the best.  If you have a clear diary I recommend you book now.

Eagle Rock In NFSA 'Sounds Of Australia' - August 24, 2010

Daddy Cool's good old 'Eagle Rock' has been selected to be archived in the National Film & Sound Archive's Sounds Of Australia.  As well as sitting along side other important Australian songs it'll be there with famous speeches & iconic sound bytes.    This link to ABC News tells the story:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/08/24/2992377.htm

While The Daily Telegraph's Kathy McCabe called me direct to find out what I thought:

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/were-still-doing-the-eagle-rock/story-e6frewyr-1225909580967

The NFSA's recognition of 'Eagle Rock' conincides with the release of an updated RW 'best of' CD containing songs from Daddy Cool, Mondo Rock and my solo work. Due for release on Shock Records on September 10th the album is called 'Mr Eagle Rock - The Best Of Ross Wilson' - how about that?  This was in the works way before we heard about the NSFA's plans for ER or my nomination for a Helpmann Award. Mr Eagle Rock be at the Sydney Opera House on awards night September 6th when '5 Decades Of Cool' runs for the Best Contemporary Music Concert gong.

Charts & Awards - August 2, 2010

At the Helpmann Awards (Live Performance Australia) nominations last night my '5 Decades Of Cool' concerts got a 'Best Australian Contemporary Concert' nod along with Tex Perkins 'Man In Black', RockWiz Tour, John Farnham tour, and Dirty 3/Laughing Clowns. Going to Sydney Opera House on Sept 6 for the final countdown and, win or lose, the biggest arty after party in the land.  There are 42 categories covering all kinds of live performance - opera, symphonic, drama, musicals, acting, dance - and more.  There was good vibe at the nominations & I'm looking forward to awards night.

The other good news is that I Come In Peace slid into the #20 slot this week on the AIR Indie Albums Chart (select the 100% Indie Chart option)

Jeff Jenkins - Howzat - July 27, 2010

Veteran rock journo Jeff Jenkins always says nice things about me; thanks Jeff.  His 'Howzat' column appears in weekly stree press mag 'Inpress' as well as on the 'Living In The Land Of Oz' website run by  Lee-Roy Stancliffe of 979fm.  Its terrific site which you peruse via my 'Links' page.  Meanwhile here's Jeff's report about my album launch & his current Top 5 playlist which includes the 'I Come In Peace' album.

"ROSS'S PEACE OFFERING                                                                                                                          When Mondo Rock are inducted, Ross Wilson will be our first triple Hall of Famer - he's already in the Hall solo and with Daddy Cool. Ross still knows how to pull a crowd. His album launch at the Toff last week was filled with pretty girls and rock stars (including Daryl Braithwaite, Mike Rudd and Bongo Starkie). Ross remains relevant, proudly stating that he's the only local artist in his 60s (he turns 63 in November) getting commercial radio play with new material. He's constantly updating his repertoire (working ice into Mighty Kong's Hard Drugs, and giving Kevin Rudd a mention in his cover of Ego Is Not A Dirty Word), and his new album, I Come In Peace, is a cracker.

HOWZAT! PLAYLIST
Love Me Like You Used To Do SKYBOMBERS
Dan Kelly's Dream DAN KELLY
Always Coming Down CORDRAZINE
… Aagh THE BOOK OF SHIPS
I Come In Peace ROSS WILSON"

BTW the album's title track is still getting lots of airplay & being added to new stations; 3BA Ballarat, Easy Mix Bendigo & Mildura, and 2DU Dubbo being the latest to come on board.  If you live near those stations give em a call & request 'I Come In Peace'.

Ain't YouTube Gr8 - July 19, 2010

Someone has taken the trouble to make a minimalist vid of my Mondo Rock spaghetti surf instrumental 'Winds Light To Variable' & posted it on YouTube. That's the actual disc spinning in the clip. Thanks whoever you are...

Goin' OFF - July 9, 2010

In case u haven't noticed we're goin' off - yes!  Premiered live TV version of 'I Come In Peace' on Hey Hey plus a post-show webcast of 'Hell Of A Time' on www.heyhey.tv & more radio adds happening  this week on the Flow-FM (SA) network, + Tas, + Darwin...we're coming on strong in the regionals - for more capital city action just start ringing in with requests.  The ICIP vid is on Rage again in the early dawn hours of Sat 9 July.  No rest for The Peaceniks...

Now on iTunes - June 23, 2010

I Come In Peace, the single, is now available on iTunes - 2 days earlier than expected - that's good news.

We're in Brisbane and playing at QPAC Playhouse Theatre tonight so I went over to 4BC and had an on-air chat with DJ Peter Dick about all things RW. Peter then kindly debuted I Come In Peace on the central BrisVegas airwaves.
