Checking out my domestic iTunes 'most played' playlist I thought it may give you some insight into the stuff I listen to for fun & therefore the kinda guy I am

1 Being A Girl - Van Hunt / 99 plays (double the other dudes - what a cool track!)

2 Feenin - Jodeci / 55 (killer track from the greatest 90s hip hop album 'Diary Of A Mad Band')

3 We Are All On Drugs - Weezer / 51 (Rick Rubin does it again - every album he works on becomes that act's career best)

5 It Seems Like You're Ready - R.Kelly / 50 (his early 90s '12 Play' album is a pure platinum sexy gasss that re-wrote the book on what a sexy album could be)

6 Do It (Til You're Satisfied) - B.T. Express / 46 (R.Kelly's manifesto from the 70s)

7 You're As Right As Rain - The Stylistics / 45 (Tom Bell cowritten & produced & arranged gem that strikes a chord with me)

8 Cherry On Top - Corey Clark / 43 (I downloaded his entire album for $1 after he was trashed on US Idol for saying Paula A came onto him! This track is the pick of the $1 crop)

9 Take Your Time (Do It Right) - SOS Band / 39 (breakthrough track - should have their entire Jam/Lewis produced 'Sands Of Time' album up here with this as well as 'Just Be Good To Me')

10 The Same As Me - Ross Wilson / 38 (best pop track I ever made - 2001 - thanks to producer Paul Wiltshire - the lost RW classic - can't win em all)

11 Let Me Be The One - Intro / 31 (dig that piano sample loop - more classy 90s R&B)

12 Stoned Pt 1 - Lewis Taylor / 30 (UK white soul guitar playing, singing, songwriting genius puts out his best album - & he's had some beauts - then quits the music biznez! What the...?)

Runners up Humpty Dance & Packet Man / Digital Underground - from the immaculate Sex Packets album on which Tupac is a minor player flexing - plus myriads of blues tracks by John Lee Hooker, Sim Harpo, Howling Wolf, Lightning Slim just to name a few of the greats - & let me recommend Iowa's finest, Bo Ramsay, the way I've been hammering his albums he'll soon have the entire Top Toons chart to himself...

Lately I'm a blaxploitation movie soundtrack theme playlist compiler - Curtis, Marvin, R.Ayers - guess where Quentin Tarantino gets his ideas? At least he gave the incredible Pam Ayers a gig in 'Jackie Brown' - but her greatest filck is 'Coffy', check it out - QT has obviously done exactly that many times over - we all stand on the shoulders of giants.

Occasional Rant?

This is a new page where I can say what I think, if the spirit moves me. Previously I've used the 'News' page to do this but that page is more about what I'm doing professionally whereas The Rant might be more about what's going on in my head or what I think about current events or maybe nothing...its new, we'll see if the page is useful. If its not I'll scrap it. It'll also be a take it or leave area; I'm not looking to make it a 2 way street or respond to reactions. There ya go - my first Rant.
